John A. Teberg - CEO Pro Tem
Jack Teberg has joined CALSEC's staff in February of 2011 as President and CEO Pro Tem. He has been involved with CALSEC for several years, serving on the Board of Directors, on which he also concurrently serves. Mr. Teberg has had an amazingly productive and fascinating career in Petroleum Engineering, oil well management, real estate development and antique cars. Jack started his career after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering. He served in the US Air Force in Japan and Korea from 1953 to 1955 as a Technical Officer managing maintenance, telecommunications and logistics from the South Korean peninsula, Japan and the Island archipelago chain to the South. From 1955 to 1962, he worked as a project engineer with Mobil Oil Company, concurrently working on his Master degree in Petroleum Engineering at USC (earned in 1962). From 1962 to 1969, he was the Chief Production Engineer working for the City of Long Beach, managing the production and reservoir engineering that produced 450 thousand barrels a day of crude oil, where formerly there had been no wells tapped. He also managed the Oil Company Consortium that was instrumental in developing the islands that were created around Long Beach Harbor to ensure a livable buffer zone for the residents of Long Beach. During this industrious phase of his career, he was able to obtain an MBA from the University California at Long Beach (now Long Beach State). Jack decided to move into Consulting following his successful oil production ventures, shortly thereafter feeling the need to try out his wildcatter instincts by starting his own company called JACAT Oil Company, wherein he owned & managed as many as 126 oil wells that spanned the southern California Coast as well as inland around the Bakersfield area. He successfully managed the growth of the company for 24 years before selling it to an independent. Jack transferred the wealth from the sale of his company into a 1031 investment wherein he diversified his portfolio into his lifelong passion of refurbishing antique cars and managing real estate development projects. He, to this day, specializes in reconditioning the glorious Model J Duisenberg (nicknamed a "Duesy"), Auburn and Packard. Jack in the interim has served as the President of the Huntington Beach Independent Oil Operators, managing and promoting contracts to compete with the large oil companies. He served as President and on the Board of Directors of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, as well as on the Board of Directors of the Oasis Senior Center in Orange County. He also served on the Executive Committee Board of the Oasis Senior Center's $21 Million New Building Program. He was the Vice Commodore and currently is Skipper and Director of the Oasis Sailing Club in Newport Beach, CA. He also has had a lifelong passion and appreciation for one of music's true savants, Mozart, now proudly serving as the Chairman and President of the Mozart Classical Orchestra in Irvine, California.
